Miley Cyrus will be performing in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil as part of the "Bangerz" concert tour and those who will make a donation to My Friend's Place, a non-profit organization that helps homeless youth in Hollywood, will have the chance to bond with the "Wrecking Ball" songstress.
On Sunday, Cyrus invited a homeless man to take her place on stage after her single "Wrecking Ball" won Video of the Year, according to the NY Times.
Jesse Helt, 22, accepted the award on Cyrus' behalf as the latter looked on, with tears in her eyes.
"My name is Jesse. I am accepting this award on behalf of the 1.6 million runaways and homeless youth in the United States who are starving, lost and scared for their lives right now. I know, because I am one of those people."
Helt continued, "I have survived in shelters all over this city. This music industry will make over $7 billion this year, and outside these doors are 54,000 human beings who have no place to call home. If you want to make a powerful change in the world right now, join us and go to Miley's Facebook page."
On Facebook, Cyrus encouraged her fans to donate for a good cause. The singer also set up a Prizeo campaign to help raise funds for the cause she's currently pushing for, People Magazine reported.
Every donation from a supporter entitles them to join a raffle that will be drawn in the next couple of weeks. Whoever wins will have the chance to spend quality time with Cyrus during her concert in Brazil.
"I'm just getting started. And I want to make sure my fans are part of helping me to give back and make an impact on the issue. We all have the power to make change happen. This is about helping youth, people just like you and me have the opportunity to find their inner power and potential, no matter what their circumstances," Cyrus said in the video clip posted on her Facebook page.
As of late, My Friend's Place, has already received a whopping $200,000 worth of donations, ABC News noted.
