When the young homeless man Jesse Helt accepted the "Video of the Year" award on Miley Cyrus' behalf at the 2014 MTV VMAs it was one of the most touching moments of the show.
Unfortunately, that moment was short lived when news broke that Helt, 22, has had a warrant out for his arrest in Oregon since November 2011 due to violating probation.
According to The Financial Express , in 2010, Helt was sentenced to 30 days of jail and probation for pleading guilty to misdemeanor charges of criminal mischief, criminal trespass, and burglary.
Before the end of his probation period, the young man ventured out to L.A. in a attempt to become a model. Cyrus met Helt through a Hollywood homeless center.
Despite Helt's troubles with the law, Cyrus continues to focus on the main reason why she brought him to the VMAs in the first place. The singer went to her Twitter account to remind the public that the real issue is the homeless youth in America.
