They alone are the ones who have the capabilities to discover a cure and save the rest of the world. The Last Ship is based on a novel by William Brinkley.
"The action-packed drama from executive producer Michael Bay has averaged more than 7.2 million viewers in Live + 7 delivery in its first season and currently ranks as basic cable's #1 scripted series this summer with adults 18-49 and adults 25-54," TNT has confirmed. At the San Diego Comic-con 2014, the cast and showrunners of the show dropped several The Last Ship season 2 spoilers. They revealed that the Russians will be back to provide some interesting twists to the show's second season. The executive producer of the show also promised viewers that they're in for a fantastic finale episode for the show's first season. "Season 1 ends with a complete cliffhanger turn that upends the whole series," Steinberg said. "It drives the series to a whole new direction."
