The "Gone Girl" movie trailer is out, and the film clips pieced together to give the audience an idea of what the thriller flick has to offer did more than just catch their interest: It excited and intrigued them.

To begin with, the "Gone Girl" movie trailer effectively presents the chilling mystery that engulfed the romance between Nick (played by Ben Affleck) and his wife Amy (portrayed by Rosamund Pike).

Metro reported that the film is based on the best-selling novel of Gillian Flynn. It is a dark intriguing story involving a husband and wife (Nick and Amy) relationship that leads to the wife's disappearance that could hint at her possible murder.

In the "Gone Girl" movie trailer shared by The Independent, the film seems to be highlighting the possibility that Nick had murdered his wife. He seems to be just putting on an act in front of the authorities and the public to cover up his crime.

The clips assembled were carefully chosen to depict the idea of how dark the couple's relationship has turned out. It started with the courtship stage where they obviously seem to have fallen madly in love with each other.

Then the proposal scene follows, with Nick presenting the engagement ring sandwiched in a notebook. A series of suspenseful scenes, hinting at Nick's seemingly sinister side, follows. All these shots were taken inside their home. The trailer cuts and culminates with a foreboding voiceover from Amy, where she said that the man she has always dreamed of, may be the same man who might end her life.

True to what Yahoo observed, director Fincher has done a good job in adapting the film to make it eerily suspenseful, thus effectively piquing the interest of the audience. But for those who had read the book version, the unexpected ending is what would seal the deal. As to what that would be...Viewers need only wait until the movie formally opens on October 3, 2014.
