Beyoncé's father, Matthew Knowles has referred to the divorce rumors that constantly surround his daughter and Jay Z as a Jedi mind trick. It has been a known fact that the public is a bit in the dark with regards to the actual condition of the partnership between Beyoncé and Jay Z. Now, Knowles has made the saga even more puzzling.
During an interview on "The Roula & Ryan Show" that was aired on Houston's 104.1 KREB, Knowles said a few things that seemed to have caused more confusion with regards to the real deal behind Beyoncé and Jay Z. The radio show's host, Roula Christie, asked Knowles about how to deal with certain controversial issues, such as the infamous elevator incident between Jay Z and Beyoncé's sister, Solange, or the current divorce rumors of the music industry's power couple.
Knowles was not hesitant at all in asking this question. He answered, "You know, I know - because we've done this from experience. There's a tour going on. So, you have to sometimes ignite that tour." Knowles was obviously referring to the present On the Run tour of Jay Z and Beyoncé.
He further added, "It's called a Jedi mind trick. And the Jedi mind trick fools you a lot of times. So, things you see sometimes are [poof]. All I know is the Jedi mind trick. Everybody's talking about it. Ticket sales went up. Solange's album sales went up 200%."
This "Jedi mind trick" has actually been used several times by various celebrities now. However, with the current super-stardom of Beyoncé and Jay Z, the public was not quick to speculate that such tactic was necessary. But, then again, anything is possible in the show business. Knowles admitting that the same thing was applied for Beyoncé's and Jay Z's On the Run tour got the public re-thinking.
