According to a report from Hollywood Gossip, the actor's son Chester Hanks, an aspiring hip-hop artist who goes by the rapper name "Chet Haze", might have even caused the separation of his parents Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson.
Tom Hanks rapper son Chet Haze, 24, is reportedly keen on building a rap career. While his movie star parents do not exactly have a problem with the music, they are reportedly concerned with their son's attachment to "gangsta" posturing and misogynistic online videos, said Hollywood Gossip.
A source close to the family says Tom Hanks rapper son "talks tough street talk and raps about skipping classes to smoke pot".
The source added that people are allegedly making fun of Tom Hanks rapper son Chet Haze. "Behind his back, people are laughing because they know he was raised in Brentwood with mega-wealthy parents,"
The Hollywood Gossip report adds that the aspiring rapper does not want to get a job and is convinced that he will someday be a huge hip-hop star.
"Chet's out of control and it's a huge embarrassment to Tom and Rita," one insider says, according to the Hollywood Gossip report.
The supposed quarter-life crisis of Chet Haze aspiring to be a rapper is allegedly one of the factors that caused the separation of his parents Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson.
According to a report from In Touch earlier this month, Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson decided to separate after being married for 26 years.
The report, however, stated that the split is just temporary. The Hollywood power couple appeared to just be sorting things out for a month, with Rita Wilson reportedly staying all by herself in their $26 million mansion in Pacific Palisades.
Meanwhile, Tom Hanks is reportedly staying at a home of a producer friend in Malibu, while waiting to film his new movie in Egypt entitled "A Hologram for the King."
A friend revealed to In Touch: "They hit a rough patch. They were leading separate lives. They just weren't seeing eye to eye."
"Although they attended social functions and walked their dog together, they were living in separate residences," the source added.
However, the temporary separation could be a sign that Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson are not ready to give up on their marriage. "Tom and Rita are not just husband and wife, they are best friends. It will take a lot to split this couple up for good," the source said.
