"The Big Bang Theory" season 8 spoilers reveal that Penny will take on a new job at Bernadette's company, while cast Mayim Bialik teased that there would be tension between Sheldon and Amy in the aftermath of last season's cliffhanger finale.
According to "The Big Bang Theory" season 8 spoilers by TVLine, Sheldon (Jim Parsons) apparently did step into the train but his friends won't just let him go on his own.
"Leonard and Amy take an unexpected road trip to Arizona to pick up Sheldon," Matt Webb Mitovich wrote.
Mayim Bialik, who plays Amy in the show, revealed more "The Big Bang Theory" season 8 spoilers as she said there's going to be some tension during the first episode, especially since her character will seemingly be insulted that Sheldon ran away without going to her first.
She also weighed in on Penny's new job as a sales rep for a pharmaceutical company. She told Glamour magazine that Amy and Bernadette (Melisa Rauch) always looked up to Kaley Cuoco's Penny as far as social skills go.
"I think it's really special that she'll be competing in a different arena," she said of Penny.
Executive producer Steven Molaro earlier talked "The Big Bang Theory" season 8 spoilers to TVLIne when he said that Penny will have a lot of things to deal with, on top of her new engagement with Leonard (Johnny Galecki)
"She will embark on a brand new career, and that will be taking up a lot of her time and energy. Bernadette has helped to get her a job as a pharmaceutical sales rep at her company. She is going to put her failed acting career on the backburner for a while," he said.
However, in episode 2 of "The Big Bang Theory," Mayim Bialik revealed that Amy will pit "Bernadette and Penny against each other."
