Fox has released new promo stills for the "Family Guy" and "The Simpsons" crossover as the characters bond over doughnuts. Bart and Stewie, meanwhile, ultimately unite to spread mischief.

According to TVGuide, the "Family Guy" and "The Simpsons" crossover will air on September 28 on Fox when the Griffins find themselves in Springfield.

"Brats Bart and Stewie team up for trouble, Lisa teaches Meg how to play the sax, and Homer and Peter shoot the bull over brewskis," the website said.

According to Al Jean, the showrunner of the long-running animated show, "We let [the Family Guy team] do their thing with the script. Both shows are all about satire. We weren't about to say, 'You can't make fun of us!'"

Out of respect, however, Al Jean and the rest of the creative team were sent the script for the "Family Guy" and "The Simpsons" crossover episode.

"We sent them the script, and I think between Jim [Brooks], Matt [Groening], and Al [Jean], they had one or two lines in the hour-long episode they asked us to tweak. They gave us free rein," Rich Appel, the showrunner of "Family Guy," earlier said during the Television Critics Association press tour.

Attendees of the San Diego Comic-Con in July were given first look at the trailer for the episode.

According to Christian Post, in the teaser video, the Griffins visit Springfield and met with the Homer Simpson and the rest of the family. Ultimately, the stubborn Peter Griffin and Homer Simpson enter into an argument over which tastes better, Homer's Duff Beer or Peter's Pawtucket Patriot Ale.

Reportedly, the "Family Guy" and "The Simpsons" episode will result to one major Springfield character being killed off, in the tradition of Brian the dog's death after he was hit by a car in season 12 episode "Life of Brian. The identity of the character, however, has not been revealed.
