Apple iPhone 6 update: the tech giant finally announces a September 9 event, but the details surrounding it remain a mystery.

Every bit of Apple iPhone 6 update is scraped and considered now that the (supposed) September reveal of the new smartphone is just weeks away. To confirm expectations, Apple has just made a press release for an invite-only September 9 event, sparking rumors of the much-anticipated reveal.

The details of the event are unfortunately scarce. It'll be hosted at the Flint Center for Performing Arts in Cupertino, just a stone's throw away from company headquarters. It starts 10 AM Stateside, and apart from that, the invite only has a few words to answer the questions running through everyone's thoughts:

"Wish we could say more."

It's unclear if a live stream broadcast of the event will be available, though in recent years Apple has opted out of this for the iPhone unveils.

Any Apple iPhone 6 update expected to be confirmed come September 9 involve the rumored 4.7 and 5.5-inch incarnations of the new iPhone, the latter considered a competitor in the next generation of phone tablets, or phablets.

Aside from showcasing the new smartphones' processors, the rumored Sapphire crystal display and NFC compatibility is also anticipated to be revealed for the first time.

The Apple iOS 8 beta rolled out in recent weeks, and the full version is expected to be unveiled at the event, with a working release out in sync with the iPhone 6 launch.

The new OS comes with several anticipated features, including the HomeKit and HealthKit. HomeKit allows for easier home automation, while HealthKit is a fitness and wellness tracking app.

The smartwatch race is also on, ever since LG launched its entry, and Apple is expected to provide updates on the rumored iWatch or iBand as follow-up to the Apple iPhone 6 update (source: yahoo.com).
