Stars Lisa Kudrow, Jennifer Aniston and Courtney Cox had an unexpected reunion in a short spoof of their popular comedy sitcom, "Friends." The three Friends stars have stayed close friends even after their show went off the air ten years ago, Lisa, Jennifer and Courtney reprised their TV characters for a fan fiction written by host Jimmy Kimmel on his TV show, according to US Magazine.
Kimmel played as Ross Geller, read out lines with Aniston, 45 as Rachel; on he recreated set of the sitcom's famous kitchen. In a while, the pair was joined by Cox, 50 and Kudrow, 51, who played their parts of Monica Geller and Phoebe correspondingly.
The instant reunion is reported to be related to September's 20th anniversary of Friends, which also starred by David Schwimmer, Matt LeBlanc and Matthew Perry. Recognition of the said event is the opening of a replica of Central Perk Coffee Shop in New York, with James Michael Taylor as Gunther, the barista and the iconic couch.
"Friends," is an American comedy sitcom produced by Marta Kauffman and David Crane, which started airing on September 22, 1994 until May 6, 2004 on NBC. It aired ten seasons and is presently in syndication. It tells the story of a circle of friends in Manhattan. The series was created by Crane, Bright, Kaufmann Productions, in collaboration with Warner Bros.
Crane and Kauffman started creating "Friends" with its original title "Insomnia Café," in December 1993. They showed the concept to Bright and they pitched together a seven page show treatment to NBC. After numerous changes and rewrites on the script, the title was changed to "Friends Like Us," finally the series was entitled "Friends."
The film production took place at Burbank, California, in the Warner Bros. Studio. On May 6.2004, after ten seasons, "Friends," aired its finale, was watched by almost 52.5 million fans, made it as the fourth most viewed series finale in the history of television.
