Manny Pacquiao news reveals that the highly anticipated mega bout against Floyd Mayweather is likely to happen in 2015 and "Pacman" believes it will all depend on "Money's" decision.
In a recent interview with The San Francisco Chronicle, Top Rank head honcho Bob Arum stated that he sees the fight happening next year, adding that both television giants HBO and Showtime have agreed to help with turning things from fantasy to reality.
"Both networks want this fight to happen," Arum confirmed the Manny Pacquiao news. "All signs seem to point to the fight happening early next year."
Arum also believes that because both fighters are already heading into the latter part of their respective careers, and that if both men do end up finally facing each other, a rematch should be in order.
"There is a sell-by date, where it becomes (after that) 'Who cares?' It has to happen by the first six months of next year," Arum continued. "And if it happens, there should be a provision with a different percentage for the rematch. So that the winner is rewarded for winning the fight."
"I would love to see these guys fight twice next year," he added.
The match-up between Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather has been creating a lot of noise since 2009, back when both men were at the peak of their profession. But as the possibilities dwindled, so did the people's interest.
However, famed trainer Freddie Roach still believes that the fight is still relevant among fans today.
"Everyone would have liked to see the fight have happened earlier," said Roach. "But it's still the biggest fight out there, and there is still a huge audience that wants to see it. I think Mayweather is a little shot, and we have a better shot now."
Meanwhile, Manny Pacquiao news also reveals that while the Mayweather fight may actually happen sooner than later, the eight-division world champion has left the possibility to "Money."
"That's an interesting fight also, but if he wants to fight, it depends on him," Pacquiao told SecondsOut.com.
