The US National Team expected an easy game but Turkey did not want to give up that easily. US struggled to keep up with Turkey as they doubled up their efforts during the first three quarters as Turkey was gaining up on them.

According to US Forward James Harden "I guess we felt like last night's game was pretty easy and tonight was going to be the same way, but Turkey came out and they gave us their punch from the beginning. We took it and we were sluggish. That second half we played a lot better."

Anthony Davis accumulated 19 points just in the second half while Kenneth Faried had 22 points all in all. The game finished with a final score of 98-77 in favor of the US team. Davis said "I think we didn't come ready to play in the first half and we can't afford to do that if we want to win a gold medal. So we've got to come out ready to play no matter who we're playing against."

The US came in to the game with a strong win from Finland a night before. They beat Finland to pulp with a margin of 59 points while it was only during the fourth quarter against Turkey that they were able to lead. They had a 17-1 run during the last quarter.

Turkey's Ender Arslan commented "Before the game we talked about we trying to keep the tempo low, in fact slow down the game and we did it very well first half. I think actually three quarters we did it very well. But after, physically United States team is great, they played 40 minutes ... so we get a little bit tired after third quarter and they still played at the same level."

It was also Turkey and USA who faced off each other during the 2010 FIBA World Cup Championship. US rallied for the win against Turkey with the final score 64-81. Kevin Durant became the MVP which was also hosted in Turkey.

The US Team is off Monday and will play Tuesday against winless New Zealand.
