The José Aldo vs. Chad Mendes pre-fight media day shoving incident in Brazil was condemned by Dana White. "Junior" then released his reaction to his boss' criticism by merely brushing it off.

The Jose Aldo vs. Chad Mendes rematch at UFC 179 is scheduled for October 25th in the champion's home country of Brazil. It will be the second title fight between both men who last faced each other in January 2012. Aldo ended up winning the bout via a first round knockout with just one second left on the clock.

During the pre-fight media day for the Jose Aldo vs. Chad Mendes rematch, a shoving match between both men transpired, almost reminiscent to the same occurrence that happened between Jon Jones and Daniel Cormier during their own pre-fight media day.

Aldo's camp recently admitted that the incident was meant to "spice things up."

"It was not staged, we were talking (trash) to each other and it happened," Aldo said in a report by Bloody Elbow. "We (Aldo and Pederneiras) tried to spice things up, but that's it."

UFC President Dana White, however, was far from pleased with what happened. For the brash executive, a fighter like Jose Aldo does not need to the "extra spice" to hype his fight up.

"As long as you're a great fighter, nobody gives a s--t about that other stuff," White said on the August 28 edition of The Download. "Yes, some guys may stand out a little more, but if you have the talent you're going to get where you want to go anyway."

The champion, on the other hand, merely brushed off his boss' criticism of his actions.

"I don't care what he says," Aldo said in a report by MMA Fighting. He's a businessman, he wants to promote his shows."

"He wants us to go in there and do our best without thinking about the consequences," he added. "Whatever he says, I don't care."
