How many Dracula movies can we really have without getting sick of this story of the vampire who launched all other vampires in the history of books, movies, and television? Yet, this new movie, Dracula Untold promises to take us deep into the backstory and all the drama behind the most famous vampire: war, family ties, and the curse that started it all.

In fact, we get to take a sneak peek into this epic vampire tale with the first Dracula Untold trailer. The movie stars up and coming actor Luke Evans (whose recent notable turns in the big screen include appearing in The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug, and Fast & Furious 6). Truth be told, Luke Evans wasn't the first actor attached to play the lead in this movie. Long before this newly released Dracula Untold trailer, the movie was called Dracula: Year Zero, and it was supposed to be directed by The Crow's Alex Proyas, and it was suppose to star Sam Worthington (Avatar). The directing duties have now been taken up by Gary Shore, who is helming this as his first full-length feature.

The trailer looks promising, with Luke Evans playing Vlad Tepes, who is willing to go to any lengths to secure the safety and security of his family, to the point where he has to choose to become a monster. A line from the trailer goes, "Sometimes the world doesn't need another hero. Sometimes what it needs is a monster." Sarah Gadon (Cosmopolis), Dominic Cooper. Samantha Barks, and Zach McGowan co-star.

Dracula Untold is the first of Paramount Pictures efforts in bringing back monsters from the olden times such as Dracula, Frankensetin, Woflman, the Invisible Man, and Creature from the Black Lagoon.

The movie Dracula Untold is set to be released on October 17. Watch the movie's trailer here:
