The release date for Michael Bay's fifth Transformers movie has been revealed.
According to reports from Channel 24, Transformers 5 is slated to be released on 2016. But that's not all, a possible plot of the film suggest that the Autobots will have a new leader replacing Optimus Prime in the movie.
According to reports from KpopStarz, the National Report wrote an article about Michael Bay hinting that he will do the fifth movie and will "kill off" Optimus Prime replacing Rodimus Prime as the Autobots leader in the movie.
"Title: Michael Bay On Transformers 5: "Optimus Dies, Rodimus Rules."
"Pressed for more details Bay revealed this:"Optimus Prime has served his time. He is old news. He dies heroically in battle, but it is time for leadership to be passed on to a new generation. We will be introducing a new Autobot known as Hot Rod. He is young and hip and sometimes doesn't think things through, just like Bumblebee. But he will have to learn how to lead what remains of the Autobots against Galvatron and his army of Decepticons."'
"Shocked by the huge scoop that I had just received, I pressed a little further. In the latest movie, It is hinted that Optimus Prime left Earth to find his maker's. Does he find them before he dies?
"Oh yeah, of course. That's where the movie starts. Prime makes it to the creators known as the Quintessons. They are less than pleased to see him and well I can't give you the whole movie. But that is where he meets Hot Rod who later becomes Rodimus Prime."
While the website claimed that this was a hoax, Rodimus Prime is also rumored to be part of the film along with Vector Prime, Unicron, and the Quintessons.
Meanwhile, there have been rumors spreading that "Transformers: Age of Extinction" star Mark Wahlberg will not return in fifth movie.
According to reports from Venture Capital Post, Mark Wahlberg will possible leave the Transformers movie franchise after the reports that Michael Bay will no longer helm that people and a new director might take his place in the movie. The website cited that with a Bay no longer handling Transformers 5 might take the franchise to a whole new level and whether this would be a good or bad thing is till uncertain.
With Mark Wahlberg possibly leaving the franchise, who will take his place? Perhaps original cast members Shia LaBeouf or Megan Fox will take the lead in Transformers 5.
The Latino Post has reported before that Shia LaBeouf and Megan Fox are rumored to make a comeback in the Transformers movie franchise. Both LaBeouf and Fox's characters Sam Whitwicky and Mikaela Banes were the first two humans that befriended the Autobots on earth and eventually became their allies in their fight against the Decepticons in the first Transformers movie and in the sequel Revenge of the Fallen.
Megan Fox recently starred in another movie Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as she plays news reporter April O'Neil. MoviePilot.com conducted an interview with Ms. Fox regarding her return in the Transformers franchise.
"I'm not sure if I'll return. As long as things are good between everyone and Shia returns with me I'd like to see us partner up with the new cast like a crossover."
Shia LaBeouf also commented on the possible Transformers comeback.
"It would be good to do another film but I doubt with the new changes since the third film that Megan could return you know, it might be a love war if me or Rosie both return you know its not that i don't think about it." He adds, "But no, I highly doubt I'll be back for another one. I'll do another Michael Bay film but not Transformers."
.
E!News has reported that Fox might come back on board if she was asked.
"If [Bay] ever wanted me to do a cameo like assembling an autobot motorcycle in a bike shop or something like that, I would totally do it".
