With news of the new Google smartphone being released soon, gadget aficionados are searching for Nexus 6 specs online.

New reports claim that the new Nexus 6 or Nexus X, will have a quad-core Snapdragon 805 processor that has an impressive speed of 2.7GHz. The device will also pack a 3GB of RAM, and sport a 12MP rear facing and a 2MP front facing camera.

Rumors are also starting to spread that the Nexus 6 specs might include a noteworthy 5.9-inch screen. However, a contradicting rumor suggests that it will only come in a 5.2-inch display with a 2560x1440 resolution. Fans will just have to wait and see which rumor is true.

Apart from these exciting features, the new Google phone will reportedly run on the newly updated Android 5.0 Lemon Meringue Pie.

Frank Mobile on Benzinga gives a lowdown on the newest Android OS update.

"Firstly, it is much faster and will last longer than previous models."

"Battery life is extensive as well. Lemon Meringue Pie will also keep devices safe with Google Play Services dispensing six weekly updates for system patches and latest malware definitions."

"It also has a kill-switch that will remotely wipe or disable a stolen or lost device."

The Nexus 6 or Nexus X is slated for an October 2014 release date which gives potential buyers enough time to save up for the spanking new gadget.

"It gives the company a month to encourage people to save up in time for Black Friday and Cyber Monday in November, while steering clear of competition from the likes of Samsung and Apple," Guardian Liberty Voice reported.
