What's the best thing to do on the weekend when there's no school? Why not marathon a few of your favorite k-dramas that take place in a school setting?

Recently, we asked our Facebook fans which school dramas they liked and we got a list that included some of our favorites too.

Here are the ones we love best and why. No need to take notes. There won't be a quiz later. We will be busy marathoning.

It's a classic: "Boys Over Flowers" has it all, a spunky heroine, played by Gu Hye Sun and four of the most attractive high school students in the history of k-drama. It all takes place in the rich kids' school but while the privileged few start out with an edge they soon learn that money can't buy love. And Lee Min Ho is in it.

It's historical: "Sungkyunkwan Scandal" is not set in modern times but school presents the same kinds of problems for Park Yoochun, Yoo Ah In, Song Joong Ki and Park Min Young as it does for modern students, with a few extra ones. Namely, if the officials discover Park Min Young is really a girl pretending to be a boy so she can study, she and her entire family will be killed.

It's bromantic: Lee Jong Suk and Kim Woo Bin look out for each other in this drama about bullying and becoming a better person. They don't start out being friends but their friendship transforms them.

It's "Romeo and Juliet" meets "Gossip Girls:" Park Shin Hye, Lee Min Ho and Kim Woo Bin, plus a cast of stunning actors, attend a school for the upper crust in "The Heirs." Park Shin Hye's character doesn't really belong there and Lee Min Ho's character has secrets that keep him from feeling like he does too. They're perfect for each other.

It's proof that high school never ends: In "High School King of Manners" Seo In Guk is a high school student who has to pretend to be a corporate executive. While only half of this drama takes place in high school, it does show that life in the office is just an extension of life in high school. It's endearingly witty and features Lee Soo Hyuk.

It has music: "Dream High" not only had a stellar cast with Kim Soo Hyun, Suzy Bae, IU, Wooyoung and Taecyeon, but there was plenty of fun musical scenes to move the plot along. The students attending Kirin High are very talented.

It tells the story of a band: "Shut Up Flower Boy Band" is about the friendship and loyalties between the members of a band and how they are tested as the students transfer to a new school. Lee Min Ki leads the band before Sung Joon takes charge. And the band includes Infinite's L. Less sweet than "Dream High" the drama offers an edgier look at how rough life can get when your dreams clash with what's expected of you.

These are not the only school dramas we like, just our favorites. Feel free to comment with yours below.
