A few pictures and videos of the supposed next-generation iPhone 6 has been leaked by two Weibo users in China. The images of the said iPhone are quite convincing, but still the there are some details that clone phone manufacturers have overlooked.
The “iPhone 6” seems to be running with the latest iOS 8, but a closer look strongly suggests that it actually runs on Android with an iOS 8 skin. Here are some of the noted difference between the original iOS 8 and the modified Android version.
First, the Clock icon has the moving hands much longer than usual. They even extend over the numbers. Note that Apple didn’t change the Clock.app icon since the iOS 7.0 (October of 2013) and it has been preserved until the iOS 8 BETA.
The second strange characteristic of these leaks is the internal storage of the device. The photos show that it has 56.0 GB of available space, whereas a 64GB iPhone running normally has 57.4 GB of space when taken out the box.
Also, the device shown has no 3rd party apps installed, no music, videos or photos. But the available space shows as 55.3 GB. That's 700 MB less than it should have. What would take 700MB on a brand new iPhone?
Considering this is a genuine iPhone 6, running iOS 8, it should have the latest Beta firmware, since Apple did not release a GM just yet. However, the version number is different than the current iOS 8 Beta.
What’s left to be seen in the next few days is if the buggy version of iOS will look anything like the final version. Until then, just take a look at the videos, photos and our findings in the gallery below and let us know your thoughts.
Apple should be releasing the iPhone 6 in two different sizes on Tuesday, September the 9th, and it will be available in a 4.7-inch diagonal display and a larger, 5.5-inch screen.
