For this "Parks and Recreation" sitcom update, fans of the show take center stage.

First up in this "Parks and Recreation" sitcom update, Washington Post shared that fans of the popular sitcom went overboard when they found out that filming of the said show was taking place in their area.

Accordingly, the production team and the cast of the NBC series were doing their best to shoot without drawing attention. Apparently, their efforts were all in vain. This occurred despite the fact that their publicist confirmed how they kept information classified to keep it from leaking, for fear that it could it could become a "Parks and Recreation" sitcom update spoiler for season 7, which is scheduled to air next year.

Selecting D.C. as their setting was a fitting choice given how the last season ended: Amy Poehler's character Leslie Knope travelled to the time where she was the regional director for the National Park Service.

Despite the crew's efforts to keep everything under wraps, info still leaked somewhat. Washington Post was only able to keep track of the flabbergasted and disappointed reaction of fans near the location area who missed it.

Speaking of "Parks and Recreation" fans, as it turned out that not all of them missed seeing Amy Poehler and the rest of the cast of the sitcom when they filmed. Well, it did not take place in the D.C. shoot, though, as confirmed by Hollywood Reporter.

Joshua Ritter and his family had the rare opportunity to spend a day with the cast of the popular sitcom while they were shooting in Los Angeles. The avid fan and his family were flown in from Illinois courtesy of Make-A-Wish foundation.

The lucky young man had a ball with the cast of the comedy series. According to him, they treated him like family that he felt no hesitation in performing the rap he had especially written for Amy as homage to her Sarah Palin rap. The star expressed her appreciation and gratitude by having someone record his rap on a phone, reported Hollywood Reporter.
