"The Walking Dead" season 5 teaser is finally out.

"The Walking Dead" season 5 teaser has Rick and his crew stuck between a rock and a hard place. Season 5 picks up from where the last episode of season 4 faded to black, with Rick and company stuck inside a shipping container at Terminus.

Season 4 developed the characters as individuals, with Rick's entire crew separated into smaller groups after The Governor broke their ranks at the Prison. The group rallied towards a mysterious destination Terminus, which promises shelter for anyone able to find it.

"The Walking Dead" season 5 teaser opens with a bang, showing Rick and company at the mercy of their captors in Terminus, as Gareth (played by Andrew J. West) assures them, "I just hope you understand, we didn't want to hurt you. Nothing was personal."

There's a scene where one of the captors holds a baseball bat, swinging for (Steven Yeung) Glenn Rhee's head. There's hope some of Rick's crew manages to survive the melee, with a scene showing him with company, entering a church with guns cocked. Unless the teaser isn't laid out chronologically.

The series has a reputation for offing characters unannounced, and it's possible the cast will be missing a few faces before season 5 is through.

Rick's son Carl, played by Chandler Riggs, looks a lot older in the teaser trailer. Carl continues his rite of passage guided by his father, who assures him that he is never safe. "No matter what anyone says, no matter what you think, you are not safe."

Rick seems to have broken out of Terminus, with plans for payback further on along the teaser trailer. His line was vengeful at the very least. "It's not over 'til they're all dead. They don't get to live."

"The Walking Dead" season 5 teaser is a taste of a new series run, which starts this October 12 (yahoo.com).
