Jennifer Aniston is one of those actresses that have been typecast in fun, quirky, romantic comedy roles, especially since she played one such character in the staggeringly popular TV show Friends. But the star has acting range that is not obvious when you look at the spate of Jennifer Aniston movies that have been in offering for years. One exception might be the 2002 film The Good Girl, where the actress played against type as a discount store clerk and was praised for her subtle performance.
Now the 45 year old actress is once again letting her hair down and her make-up off in a new movie that has her feeling the freedom of being able to bare all. "We don't always have our heels on and our makeup on," the actress shared in press conference at the Toronto Film Fest for the latest Jennifer Aniston movie, Cake. "I loved every minute of it. It was extremely liberating to do that. I loved it, because as women, we do feel we have to live up to an expectation, whether on camera or just going to the market."
Jennifer Aniston stars in Cake as Claire, who is coming to grips with the suicide of one of the members of her chronic-pain support group. "The truth of the matter, that's not how it always is. We don't always have our heels on and our makeup on. There's beauty in pain, or grief or an award show. There's beauty in all of it," the actress shared.
In the movie, Aniston sports a bare face, and wears both a prosthetic scar down her face and a back brace. The film, which co-stars William H. Macy, Adriana Barraza, Felicity Huffman and Sam Worthington debuted at the Toronto Film Festival to a standing ovation crowd. There is also talk that this might be the Jennifer Aniston movie that might earn the actress an Oscar nomination for this stripped down role. We'll let you know the details as they come by.
