Clinic insiders claim that Joan Rivers' supporters have been coming in groups following their idol's cardiac arrest almost two weeks ago.
The TMZ report revealed how death threats were sent to Yorksville Endoscopy. Some of the threats included: "If Joan dies, so will you," and "I hope you people die, you killed an icon."
Joan Rivers died on Thursday September 4 at the age of 81. According to a report from CNN, her 46-year-old daughter Melissa Rivers released a written statement to announce her mother's death, saying her mother "passed peacefully at 1:17 p.m. surrounded by family and close friends."
E!Online reported almost two weeks ago how Joan Rivers stopped breathing during a minor endoscopic procedure at Yorksville Endoscopy.
A source said: "They were putting a scope down her throat to check her vocal cords. She stopped breathing."
Joan Rivers news said an emergency call was made and the comedienne was then rushed to Mount Sinai Hospital in New York.
Following Joan Rivers' passing, Yorksville Endoscopy has been taking additional security measures, such as closing early so that their employees could go home, and hiring more security personnel.
The New York State Department of Health is reportedly investigating Yorkville Endoscopy in relation to the death of Joan Rivers. Julie Bolcer, a spokesperson from the New York medical examiner's office, said: "The cause and manner of (Joan River's) death will be announced at some point."
The CNN report included Yorkville Endoscopy's profile as indicated in their website. The clinic describes itself as a "state of the art facility, staffed by highly experienced endoscopists whose mission is to provide safe and compassionate care to patients and their families."
