Viewer ratings for the Monday-Tuesday night dramas dipped slightly on Monday because of the Korean harvest holiday of Chuseok. But the ratings rose again the next day and the order of the dramas remained the same.
"The Night Watchmen," starring Jung Il Woo, Go Sung Hee and U-Know Yunho, held on to first place. Ratings for the fusion ghost-busting saeguk rose from 9.6 percent on Monday to 11.6 percent on Tuesday. The latest development in the drama is the decision by Sang Hyun, played by Yoon Tae Young, to organize a defense against the treacherous ghosts that terrorize the palace. Keeping the bad ghosts out could be an important first step to restoring peace and harmony within.
"Temptation" held second place with ratings of 6.6 percent on Monday rising to 8.3 percent the next day. Both of the melodrama's new relationships seemed to unravel this week. Park Ha Sun's character gave up on her second marriage to Lee Jung Jin's wealthy but clueless character after discovering he cheated on her with his ex-wife. Choi Ji Woo's character tried to push Kwon Sang Woo's character out of her life because she faced life-altering surgery. But he would not be pushed and risked a stint in his company's New York office to sit by her hospital bed. The exes, played by Kwon and Park, are speaking to each other again. She no longer wants revenge. Her brother, played by CNBLUE's Lee Jung Shin, asks if they could not get back together? There are only two episodes left. Will the characters now playing a musical chairs version of marriage sort it out?
In third place was "Discovery of Love," starring Eric Moon, Jung Yu Mi and Sung Joon. The love relationships in this comedy have become complicated by the fact that people are keeping secrets. Jung Yu Mi and Eric Moon have not told her current "perfect" boyfriend that they dated for five years. Sung Joon has not told Jung Yu Mi about his real relationship to the messenger girl she keeps catching him with. Nor has anyone told the audience. That girl, played by Yoon Jin Yi, may be his sister or she may be someone he looked out for at the orphanage. He says he doesn't see her as a woman but he's drawn to protect her. The comedy rose 0.4 percent from Monday to Tuesday, reaching 7.7 percent in viewership. That means its close to "Temptation" but probably won't catch up when people tune in next week to see the drama's finale.
