"The View" returning host Rosie O'Donnell has called out former cast members Sherri Shepherd and Elisabeth Hasselbeck while awaiting her talk show comeback later this month.

According to a report from Entertainment Tonight, the controversial comedienne will be back on the ABC talk show on September 15. "The View" returning host Rosie O'Donnell will reportedly be joined by new co-hosts, to which she insisted that she wants the show to be "smarter".

The 52-year-old TV personality then went on to blast a former cast member, Sherri Shepherd. Referring to a comment made by the ex-host who left this summer. Rosie O'Donnell joked: "No one is going to think the Earth is flat."

The brutally frank host added that she "thought (she) was going to have an aneurysm" when she watched Sherri Shepherd on that particular episode.

Entertainment Tonight revealed that after calling out Sherri Shepherd, the host went on to slam another ex-member of "The View" round table - Elisabeth Hasselbeck. The two had a controversial feud both on-air and off-air before Rosie O'Donnell left the show in 2007.

Rosie O'Donnell narrated that "Elisabeth would go into the dressing room with (executive producer Bill Geddie) and go over Republican talking points that are sent out every day, and then come out and recite what she had ingested."

"I tried to get her to talk more about her own self and how she felt rather than being a robotic pundit," she scoffed.

According to a CNN report, Rosie O'Donnel will be returning to "The View" this fall. The comedienne is one of the most famous co-hosts from the talk show's history.

Rosie O'Donnell's "The View" return is highly anticipated by fans who followed her hosting stint during the show's 10th season in 2006-2007.

Rosie O'Donnell also revealed that her return to "The View" will mean that there will be less celebrities, said the Entertainment Tonight report. "The necessity for celebrity in daytime TV has diminished as access to celebrity has increased 100-fold," she said.

The controversial celebrity declared that viewers will see a different Rosie O'Donnell compared to how she hosted the show back in 2007. She then described her past years of hosting "The View" as a "very emotional and tumultuous time of (her) life", since she was then going through a divorce with former wife Kelli Carpenter.

Five years after splitting up with Kelli Carpenter, Rosie O'Donnell married Michelle Rounds in 2012. "Now I'm quite happily married," said the comedienne.
