"The Simpsons" and "Futurama" crossover spoilers reveal the first image on the first meeting of Homer Simpson and the robot Bender for an episode dubbed "Simpsorama," which creator of both series Matt Groening joked that it was the toughest negotiation yet.
According to Matt Groening, unlike Seth McFarlane's "Family Guy" mashup, realizing"The Simpsons" and "Futurama" crossover was more tricky.
"That was a really tough one to negotiate, because I had to talk to myself," Matt Groening quipped to Entertainment Weekly.
The tagline for the "The Simpsons" and "Futurama" crossover, which airs on November 9, reads:
"A show out of ideas teams up with a show out of episodes."
Showrunner Al Jean explained that "Futurama" is going off the air so they thought of doing the mashup because "people would really love it if we had one more chance to see those characters."
"We do a joke, actually, about how similar Bender and Homer look. Like, they just erased Homer's hair," he said.
According to Rolling Stone, "The Simpsons" and "Futurama" crossover episode will have Bender traveling back in time to kill Bart thereby avoiding an apocalypse, "which originates from radioactive waste, Milhouse's rabbit's foot and 'Bart blowing his nose on a sandwich.'
As Al Jean told Entertainment Weekly, "There's a thing in Futurama code where if you solve it, it says, 'Congratulations! You're a nerd.'"
"The Simpsons" and "Family Guy" mashup will air on September 28 on Fox.

The clip opens with the Griffins appearing to be lost and stumbled upon the sign "Welcome to Springfield."
Then the spiels and putdowns immediately started with Peter Griffin warning his family to never drink from the water because everybody in Springfield has hepatitis. Of course, Homer Simpsons also has his day as he called the Griffins his albino friends.
Then the fight between Peter Griffin and Homer Simpson starts over which beer is better-tasting: the Pawtucket or Duff.
