As if one controversy is not enough, now NFL is faced with another challenge with one of the Vikings star player Adrian Peterson.
A couple of weeks ago, NFL had to face issues of domestic violence after video of Ray Rice emerged with him hitting his then fiancée in an elevator. Now NFL is plagued with another controversy, with Minnesota Vikings running back, Adrian Peterson being accused of hitting is 4 year old son using a tree branch.
Because of this issue, the Vikings have deactivated Peterson for the game against New England this coming Sunday.
Fox News, TMZ and a couple of other news authority reported that Peterson has been indicted in Montgomery County for reckless or negligent injury to a child.
Based from the Police Reports acquired by Sports Radio 610, Peterson reprimanded his 4 year old son after he pushed his other child from a motorbike video game.
It says "As punishment, Peterson grabbed a tree branch - which he consistently referred to as a "switch" - removed the leaves and struck the child repeatedly."
It continues "The beating allegedly resulted in numerous injuries to the child, including cuts and bruises to the child's back, buttocks, ankles, legs and scrotum, along with defensive wounds to the child's hands. Peterson then texted the boy's mother, saying that one wound in particular would make her "mad at me about his leg. I got kinda good wit the tail end of the switch."
According to TMZ, after the child went home and confided with his mother, the mother took the child to a doctor to have him checked. After which the doctor contacted the authorities to report the incident. The doctor who checked the child termed the injuries as "child abuse."
The report says "The doctor told investigators that the boy had a number of lacerations on his thighs, along with bruise-like marks on his lower back and buttocks and cuts on his hand. The police report says the doctor described some of the marks as open wounds and termed it 'child abuse.' Another examiner agreed, calling the cuts 'extensive."
