Super Smash Bros Wii U Release Date Reportedly November 21, Rumors From Leaked Images Suggest 3DS Works As A Controller, Nintendo Denies 3DS Option Expandable To Other Titles
Although the 3DS version of Super Smash Bros’s release date was established as Sept 12th in Japan, Oct 3rd in North America and Europe, and Oct 4th in Australia, there is little information to tag the official release date for the Wii U version.
Retail outlet Fred Myer pings the date as November 21st in the US on reservation cards, whose image was leaked on the Internet.
Twitter user @BluesDriveBuster tweeted the game title, cover of the game, and the release date, saying it appears to be legitimate, or it’s a good photoshop job.
Assuming the release for Wii U is on the 21st of November, Nintendo typically unveils its titles on Fridays, in this case the 21st.
“Am I crazy, or does this say that if you connect your 3DS with your Wii U, that you can use your 3DS as a controller?” asks Twitter use Kyle McLain who was showing off a 3DS menu screen from the game.
The catch-22 is that currently the 3DS seems to be compatible with Super Smash Bros and there is little information if the 3DS can be used as a controller in other games.
At any rate, Nintendo has not confirmed this function on 3Ds so far and whether or not it will be utilized.
