"The Mindy Project" season 3 cast Mindy Kaling showed off her flair for fashion as the comedian gave tribute to the late "Fashion Police" host Joan Rivers.
In a series of photos from MailOnline, "The Mindy Project" season 3 cast Mindy Kaling took on three different outfits on the same day as she appeared on the "Today Show" and the Build Speaker Series organized by AOL.
The 35-year-old wore a mini dress as she guested on the "Today Show" in NYC in order to promote her series. Then she changed into a blue dress for the Build Speaker Series. After her commitments, she then changed into a more casual wear by wearing a flannel shirt and gray leggings. She also appeared to have washed off her makeup as she strolled along the streets of New York.
On the "Today Show," per MailOnline, "The Mindy Project" season 3 cast Mindy Kaling talked about adding a new character on the show, her boyfriend's mother to be played by Rita Perlman.
"Well we thought the show would be not as fun as if Mindy got the handsome man of her dreams and then all of her problems were solved," she said. "So Rita Perlman, who is unbelieveable, such a wonderful actress, hates my character, and that's a conflict that's really funny on the show."
Meanwhile, the comedian also talked to Huffington Post about the "Fashion Police" host Joan Rivers' passing.
"Joan was so incredible for so many reasons. She was completely fearless... and totally fine with taking an insult," she said, adding that she received her fair share of bashing on the Joan Rivers' show.
"We can't be offended if people call our clothes ugly. We can't be offended if people say that we're fat and ugly because those are things that should not be important to us. She was both someone who dished a lot, but also taught, 'Hey, don't take it personally.' So that was very useful," she added.
"The Mindy Project" season 3 cast Mindy Kaling also said that she wanted to follow on Joan Rivers' footsteps, on one thing: "She died working, and that's what I want to do. "If I could choose the way I'd go, yeah, one week off of her TV show."
