Primus Tool Aenema Danny Carey: Percussionist Carey Wails On ‘Aenema’ Interlude During Primus Chicago Concert, Will ‘Sub’ For Herb During Sep. Tour
Primus Tool Aenema Danny Carey. Primus fans who went to the September 13 and 14 concerts in Chicago would have been more than a little surprised to see Tool’s drummer Danny Carey subbing for Primus drummer Tim Alexander, who is resting from open heart surgery. With Carey taking over the percussions and filling the band’s void, Primus gave a rendition of Tool’s ‘Aenema.’
Tim, who is nicknamed’ Herb’ had a heart attack a couple of months ago and the Puscifer/Primus percussionist had to go through open heart surgery. Herb’s ‘open heart’ was a success according to Primus’ Les Claypool who announced “the blockage from his heart has been removed with no complications and all signs point to a glorious and speedy recovery,” loudwire.com reported.
Danny Carey will continue as drummer for Primus on a few more tour concerts during September while Alexander recuperates. Sitting in the middle of two Chicago sets, Primus went all out to play a piece of the tune ‘Aenema.’ Footage filmed by roaring fans during the September 13 concert, show the audience singing along with Aenema, an anthem composed by Tool.
The video above shows the Primus rendition of Aenema. Do you think Primus did justice to ‘Aenema?’ Let us know in your comments.
