Nicolle Wallace Rosie Perez The View 18th Season Premiere, Kristin Chenoweth Sings ‘Borrowed Angels’ In Joan Rivers Tribute, Whoopi Says ‘It’s Hard To See The Great Ones Go’

Nicolle Wallace Rosie Perez The View. The View was in reboot mode when new co-hosts Nicolle Wallace, Rosie Perez joined the morning talk show on ABC after a drawn out deliberation. And of course, the previous panel from last season included Whoopi Goldberg and co-host Rosie O’Donnell. Some fans commented that two Rosie’s were one too many, but the execs decided to keep the new addition Rosie Perez too, since she is a household name in America.

The View opened with the four co-hosts bowing down to a former co host who has announced her retirement, Barbara Walters. Hollywood reporter quoted Walters as saying, "Thank you, my pals. This is wonderful, but it's unnecessary because of course you have my blessings," she told the camera. "I don't know what all the fuss was about — and by the way, I was told I'd have a crown!"

Whoopi began the 1th season premiere, calling it ‘the newer View’ shot in a studio inside the ABC Broadcast Center with a brand new logo: “"We're gonna try a lot of new stuff — some of it will work and some of it won't, but the thing that will never change is its great conversations with great women," said the Hollywood Reporter.

The View offered brief tributes to Richard Attenborough, Lauren Bacall, and Robin Williams. To help pay tribute to comedian Joan Rivers, Kristin Chenoweth performed her song, ‘Borrowed Angels’ which brought heartfelt tears to O’Donell and Goldberg, both comedians in their own right.

Goldberg spoke of Joan that it especially hard to let great artists go: "Joan always knew how to leave people laughing, and nobody did it like she did. ... she was our best friend," adding, "There'd be times when I'd be sitting on the couch, and she'd say something, and the laugh was from deep down. When you get the chance to see a great artist — and she was a great artist — it's hard when they go," reports THR.

Clips of Rivers hosting The View during her many visits to the show were also aired.
