"The Mindy Project" season 3, episode 1 recap showed how Danny's dance easily stole the show, in light of a downer of a news as the premiere ratings were down from second season.

Kimberly Roots wrote "The Mindy Project" season 3, episode 1 recap for TVLine as she said that the final 90 seconds alone was worth the wait for the premiere to air.

"Because in those final 90 seconds, star Chris Messina sees Danny's Secret-Santa dance from Season 2 and raises it a striptease that would make Channing Tatum say, 'Dayum,'" she wrote.

"Messina wholeheartedly commits to what could've been a silly footnote on the episode, and the result is both super hot and very funny. And really, what more could we ask of the Fox comedy's return?" she added.

The show started with a montage of the moments between Mindy and Danny as a couple. Mindy Lahiri's voice can be heard saying that Danny is the perfect man for her because he's a "a devout Catholic divorcee, with some pretty serious dad issues which, for a single thirtysomething woman, is not too shabby."

But of course, being a couple there's bound to be some disagreements, although for "The Mindy Project" season 3, episode 1 recap, it's quite tame. The two fought over the things between them that should be kept private to others, even to their friends. And Mindy was guilty of that even if she promised that she would keep her mouth shut.

Things came to a head when Danny shares a secret to Mindy but it ended up spilled to others, which prompted Danny to say that he doesn't trust her with his secrets anymore. Eventually, the two made up when they ironed out the miscommunication between them. And hence, the dance number from Danny.

Meanwhile, in another article, TVLine reported that "The Mindy Project" season 3, episode 1 was down 26% from the previous premiere.

But it's not all bad news because the show generated 2.7 million or 1.3 million average views, which was still on part with its finale episode last May which drew 2.5 million and 1.3 million average views.
