Microsoft has been receiving complaints from Surface Pro 3 users after releasing this month’s patch. The problem is related to slow download speeds via Wi-Fi.

This isn’t the first time that Wi-Fi related problems has been associated with the Surface Pro 3. This time. However, it seems that the recently released drivers are making download speeds super slow on some units.

The number of complaints posted on Microsoft’s Community forums increases every day, which strongly suggests that something’s not right with the new drivers that were released to all tablets via Windows Update on Patch Tuesday.

Microsoft hasn’t released a statement yet on what’s causing the problem, but everyone is expecting for a fix on the issue.

According to forum posts, the source of the problem points mostly on the Wi-Fi adapter drivers that Microsoft rolled out this month. This has several users complaining after installing the new version, as Wi-Fi download speed has dropped dramatically.

At this moment, some claims says that there’s an issue with the 2.4 GHz band, which affects the Surface Pro 3 tablet. However, there’s absolutely no confirmation from Microsoft whether this causes the problem or not.

The moment when the Surface Pro 3 has gone on sale, users later started to report limited Wi-Fi connectivity issues. This is pretty much the shared problem that some found in older models of the tablet, including the Surface RT and the Pro.

Since then, Microsoft has rolled out several fixes and firmware updates in order to resolve the issue. Unfortunately, there’s no fully working patch for this problem until today. Perhaps, the next time Microsoft will try to address this problem will most likely be next month’s Patch Tuesday, when a brand new firmware version, which includes Wi-Fi improvements, could be released to users.

Like always though, it may take some time to reach all users and we already know that not everyone will receive the update at the same time.
