Facebook Moments App: New Created App To Motivate Users To Pay Attention To Their Privacy Settings Through A Pop-Up Dinosaur Cartoon! How Does It Work?

It is reported that Facebook is working on a newly designed app to urge private content sharing by making the steps to do it even more personal. Based on different resources, Techcrunch says that the present code name for the new app is Moments and will let users have a grid style interface from which they could share private moments with family and friends. The goal of the app is to help users who want to post intimate contents with close friends, but have been increasingly complex because of the privacy settings of Facebook.

The report evades on whether or not the app will ever truly be released, citing frequent precedent inner Facebook tests that not at all public-facing results. The firm is experimenting to a pop-up reminder that urges users to also mind who they are sharing moments with on this famous platform, and the pop up privacy dinosaur using a cartoon dinosaur in front of blue laptop, sends the privacy message.

Facebook has been testing the reminder for the past few weeks, and the dinosaur has been a fun, albeit inexplicable, part of the test. According to a Facebook official, "We frequently test new ways to help ensure people are sharing with who they want to on Facebook." Although, he didn't talked about specific details about the cartoon dinosaur or the reason behind its creation, but provided a very helpful statement to the users.

"Facebook users can specify the group with which they want to share their posts, and the pop-up asks them to ensure they are sharing with the intended group. There hasn't been a change to how privacy or sharing works on Facebook; the company is merely alerting users to the option." The statement only shows that the firm is truly aware of the importance of users' trust. This move was also recognized by the International Association of Privacy Professionals, through their Twitter account, " So keep an eye out for Facebook's privacy dinosaur - it may just save you from oversharing."
