Maisie Williams has been tapped to play the lead role in new Channel 4's drama "Cyber Bully".
According to Director Ben Chanan, the show requires a brilliant actress to play the role of Casey Jacobs, who battles with her unknown cyber-stalker. The 'Game of Thrones' star is a perfect fit.
"I couldn't imagine anyone else in the role. Maisie Williams is not only remarkably talented, she also has an immediately likeable, feisty screen presence which makes you root for her instinctively."
"Cyber Bully" aims to increase awareness on Internet bullying. Nick Mirsky, Channel 4 Head of Documentaries, said "It is one of the most important purposes of Channel 4 to find new ways of engaging young audiences with the cyber world and the stories that play out on the internet. This film does exactly that in a way that is gripping, relevant and fiercely public service."
Among those featured as Teen Vogue's Young Hollywood 2014, Williams just passed his driving test in her first attempt. She took driving lessons secretly.
"I just really wanted to pass today as I'm going back filming for the 'Game of Thrones' next week and wanted to get it out of the way before then so I had to make the most of this block of time," she said in a report by Mail Online.
With her new skill, she expects to be offered new roles. "I have been sent through so many scripts where my character drives and it's been such a heart-breaking moment when I realize I can't go for it."
