Hot new movie trailer alert! For all you followers of Tim Burton and his macabre work, well, this new movie might take you by surprise. First of all, there are no dark and gothic elements in it, and it stars normal looking actors and actresses who are playing roles based on real life people!

Big Eyes is Tim Burton's latest offering after 2012's Dark Shadows and Frankenweenie. The Big Eyes movie trailer was just released, and it features glimpses of fantastic performances from its lead actors Amy Adams and Christoph Waltz. Now while the actors themselves don't look like anybody that has starred in a Tim Burton movie before, the paintings of artist Margaret Keane (portrayed by Adams) certainly look like they came from The Nightmare Before Christmas.

Margaret Keane is an American artist born in 1927 whose paintings mainly depict women and children using oil and mixed media. Her works are distinct for the big, doe eyes of the subject, hence the title of the Tim Burton movie, Big Eyes.

Hers is a story with an unfortunate conflict at its center, when her husband Walter (played by Waltz) will start grabbing claiming credit for some of the work that she has done. The whole thing goes to court with each even trying to prove through live demonstration paint-offs that they were the ones who painted an art piece. In an interview with USA Today, Adams opened up about the conflicted character she is playing in this movie, in which her performance has already generated some Oscar buzz.

"Margaret really believed that as a woman, people would not buy her art," Adams said in the interview with USA Today. "[Walter] convinced her the life they were able to lead was because the artist was a man, who could sell more art at a higher price than a woman."

Big Eyes is set to be released on Christmas day this year. In the meantime, watch the trailer here:
