Lindsay Lohan will be debuting in David Mamet's "Speed-The-Plow" starting September 24, at the London Playhouse Theater.
Lohan plays the role of Karen, a temporary secretary to derails the dream of film producers Bobby Gould and Charlie Fox of making a huge commercial hit, according to Broadway World.
In a previous interview with The Telegraph, Lohan admitted that was initially overwhelmed by her role because it was once played by the iconic singer Madonna.
"You know, when you think about it, I was going other things before this, and I was travelling, and I come back and I'm looking at this thing and I'm like, 'Oh f*ck.' The whole act two, I just speak throughout the whole thing," she said.
"Speed-The-Plow" adds to Lohan's long list of credentials including her most famous portrayal in the film "Mean Girls."
Multiple sources recently hinted that Lindsay got in touch with her co-star Tina Fey and pitched on the possibility of creating "Mean Girls 2" together, MTV reported.
In a recent interview, Lohan said, "People really love the movie: how do you top that? I was with Tina Fey the other day and I said we should do another Mean Girls, like an older version where they're all housewives and they're all cheating. That would be really funny. I'll harass Tina to write it."
Fey, 44, was the one who wrote the screenplay for the film that was released in 2004. Fey played the role of calculus teacher Ms. Sharon Nurbury, NZ Herald noted.
Last month, Fey and Lohan met for a special reunion photo shoot for an upcoming issue of Entertainment Weekly that featured the Mean Girls duo.
Lohan took the opportunity to share a photo via her Instagram account and wrote, "Lovely running into an inspiring, funny, beautiful old friend!!! #tinafey."
The said photo drew speculations that Lohan and Fey might be partnering up for a much-awaited "Mean Girls" reunion. However, Fey has previously revealed that no such thing will ever happen.
