The BET Hip Hop Awards 2014 was held last weekend, and show highlights came from French Montana, rapper TI, Keyshia Cole, and Doug E Fresh.
According to a report from Rap-Up, the Saturday show was hosted by veteran rapper Snoop Dogg. The Westcoast hip hop legend appeared in several comedy skits throughout the event, which was held in Boisfeuillet Jones Atlanta Civic Center in Atlanta.
One of the comedy skits during the BET Hip Hop Awards 2014 was an interview with Moroccan rapper French Montana. The "Don't Panic" artist has been in the news recently for his controversial relationship with "Keeping Up With The Kardashians" star Khloe Kardashian . According to a report from Hollywood Life, the two split after French Montana reportedly tried to cheat on the reality TV star with her close friend, Malika Haqq.
The Rap-Up article also reported the "reunion" between R&B singer Brandy and female rappers Queen Latifah, MC Lyte, and Yo-Yo. The group performed a hip-hop remix of Brandy's debut single "I Wanna Be Down", which was released 20 years ago.
Rapper TI also performed the song "All About The Money" with Young Thug, said the Rap-Up report.
Singer Keyshia Cole also attended the BET Hip Hop Awards 2014 amid news of her recent assault scandal. The "Last Night" female vocalist reportedly attacked a woman in the condominium unit of rapper Birdman, whom Keyshia Cole is said to be dating.
Birdman was one of the performers during the awarding ceremony, taking on the stage with Rich Homie Quan and Young Thug for the track "Lifestyle".
Doug E Fresh was emotional when he accepted the "I Am Hip-Hop Award" in honor of his mother.
"I want to thank this woman and hip-hop. If it wasn't for hip-hop, I don't know where I would be," he said. Doug E Fresh also performed "La Di Da Di" with Snoop Dogg, said the Rap-Up report.
The BET Hip Hop Awards 2014 was taped last weekend and will be aired on October 14.
