UFO sightings movies reflect the common fascination of people with other beings from distant planets visiting the earth. Some of them contain some grain of truth taken from people's alleged abduction accounts. However, none of these can conclude, let alone confirm, that aliens do exist.

The possibility that homo sapiens are not the lone living creatures in the universe, had people wondering if the extra-terrestrial creatures out there might be just as curious about us, too. Well, they might be.

Proving such suspicions correct seems like a gargantuan task that could take years. But many film producers and creators have already jumped the gun and spun stories that they made into UFO sightings movies.

Below are the top three UFO sightings movies of all time that UFO Evidence shared, with details from IMDB.

1. "Close Encounters of the Third Kind"

A 1977 Steven Spielberg hit, "Close Encounters of the Third Kind" focuses on the strange life-changing experience that happened to Roy Neal. Driving one night, his truck suddenly halts, and he suddenly finds himself enveloped by bright light coming from the sky. The strange encounter left him plagued with unusual visions and five strange notes that played continuously in his mind.

2. "The Abyss"

The hit sci-fi film released in 1989 involves the eerie encounter that started with an American nuclear submarine's accidental sinking due to sudden massive malfunctions resulting from their encounter with aliens. The discovery of the species came after navy workers and SEALS were sent to locate and investigate the crash site. While working on their task, they found out that there were other extra-terrestrial creatures in the deep observing them.

3. "Uforia"

Released in 1985, the movie centralizes on how Sheldon Bart, his girlfriend Arlene and friend Brother Bud dealt with Arlene's strange visions of a pending UFO arrival. The comedy meshes three unlikely characters - Sheldon, a small-time con artist; Arlene, a grocery clerk; and Brother Bud, a big-time con-guy interested in stolen cars and faith healing.
