Chris Hemsworth movie "Blackhat" has released its trailer. It will hit the theaters on January 16, 2015 but at this time it is one of the most-awaited flicks next year.
The Sydney Morning Herald reports that Hemsworth plays the role of Nick Hathaway who is released from jail by the authorities themselves to go after the hacker responsible for the downed systems of four of the world's largest banks. He is a convicted hacker, a genius coder who is sentenced for 15 years. He demands a shorter term in return for the help he will give.
'Thor' star said that he took computer lessons for a couple of months to learn how to code and to advance his two-finger typing skills. See how Chris Hemsworth gives justice to his character in the "Blackhat" trailer.
Other stars in the film are Viola Davis, Tang Wei, and Wang Leehom. Mann and Morgan Davis wrote the script. Producers are Mann, Thomas Tull, and Jon Jashni. Executive producers are Alex Garcia and Eric McLeod. Universal and Legendary will release this cybercrime thriller.
With Michael Mann at the helm, viewers should not be surprised if they see Hemsworth playing the hero and at some point, the villain in the movie.
He was the talented writer and director who first brought the character of Hannibal Lecter to the big screen in "Manhunter".
According to Mann, in the movie "They don't know who [the terrorist] is, where he is, and they don't know why he's doing what he's doing. There's no apparent motive. The people they're working against are high-speed, world-class. They're dangerous, violent, and that launches our story."
The filmmaker also revealed in an interview by The Hollywood Reporter that he had met with many hackers, including one who had been to prison.
