Scandal Season 4 Spoilers

"Scandal" fans are more than happy that the new season is finally here but they are much happier to know that Olivia Pope is back - or is she really?

Tonight's episode opened with Olivia Pope enjoying her time at the beach with her boyfriend, Jake.

The two were seen canoodling with each other, that is, before Jake handed Olivia a letter with her fake name on it.

Pope opens the letter addressed to Julia Baker and finds out that Harrison went missing for a time while she was away. Unfortunately, he is already dead, according to Entertainment Weekly.

This prompted Pope to return to Washington D.C. where she came face to face with the Gladiators, particularly Quinn.

The former White House spokesperson learned that it was Quinn who tried to find her and reached out to her through the letter.

After their brief exchange, Quinn brought Pope to the place where Huck is currently working at. However, just like her, Huck took on a different identity in an attempt to live a much more peaceful life.

Huck is hesitant to forgive Olivia and this gives her a lot of pain.

Next, Quinn brought Olivia outside of the White House to come face to face with Abby. However, Abby, who took the place of Pope inside the White House couldn't forgive her either.

Olivia threw shade at her and tells her that attending Harrison's funeral is her choice and she storms off and leaves her and Quinn behind, the Washington Post reported.

Of course, typical Olivia Pope plot, she receives a call from the Senator and she immediately takes on the case.

After Harrison's simple burial attended by the Gladiators, Huck and Abby included, Olivia comes face to face with President Fitzgerald.

The brief encounter between the two was enough to put a smile on both of their faces.

"Scandal's" first official episode for the season ended on an obvious note that Olivia Pope is officially back and she's hopefully here to stay.

"Scandal" airs every Thursday on ABC.
