Happy 16th birthday, Google Doodle!

The unusual work of art featured largest search engine homepage celebrated its 16th birthday on September 27, with a cartooned Google Doodle. The G in the logo measures the growth of the other letters, O and L.

The unique art of Google celebrated has greeted birthday celebrants, remembered events and causes over the years. Its topics have differed from iconic actress Audren Hepburn to sci fi show Doctor Who, as well as social causes like Womens Day, gay rights controversy, Winter Olympics and Martin Luther King's 50th anniversary with his speech, I Have A Dream.

In the recent years, Google has been more innovative and ambitious with its Doodles, like having a partnership with This American Life of NPR radio program o celebrate Valentine's Day, to honor Les Paul, they used a playable guitar, and a working Rubix cube. Of course, who would forget the Pac-Man Google Doodle that caught our attention and kept us from work in 2010.

Most people can only wish to have a driver's license during their 16th birthday, but the California-based-Mountain view search giant had other plans, they wanted to earn $390 billion valuation on their sweet 16. They might be able to score yourself a couple for that sum.

At the same time, we are all aware that one of the tech business elites has been aggressively successful for a 16 year old teenager, what are the investors' take on this 16th birthday of Google? What do early fanatics return seem like?

The truth is, the average sole investor could not have bought in, back in 1998, even if they wanted to. Co-owners Sergey Brin and Larry Page were working on Google in 16 years on an investment of $100,000 from co-founder Andy Bechtolsheim of Sun Microsystem.

Cheers to Google! Happy 16th Birthday Google Doodle.
