Pierce Brosnan will play the role of a drug creator in the movie "Urge". Can he bring back his "James Bond" days with this dramatic thriller?

The story focuses on a group of friends on vacation at a chic island, grabbing the offer of a new designer drug, which will prevent them from controlling their urges. Brosnan also functions as the gate-keeper of the island's new drug, Deadline wrote.

Pierce Brosnan has a number of flicks coming: "How To Make Love Like An Englishman", "The Coup", "The Moon and The Sun", and "Survivor". Showing on Nov. 7 is "The November Man". But even before this spy thriller hits the theater, a sequel is said to be given a green light. For the actor, it is a welcome surprise.

"'The November Man' is an iconic, tough character and I am excited to partner with Relativity to continue to bring him to life," he said.

On the other hand, Robbie Brenner, President of Production at Relativity said: "'The November Man' is a gritty series that re-invents the spy genre with its master Pierce Brosnan by combining the best elements of James Bond and Jason Bourne while echoing the cool, sleek action movies of the '70s. We are excited to launch 'The November Man' and to continue to explore Peter Devereaux's dangerous world with Pierce over the years to come."

"Urge" is the feature directorial debut of Aaron Kaufman, who worked as producer for "Machete Kills" and "Sin City: A Dame to Kill For", and executive producer for "Chef". He has also written the script for "Urge", along with Jason Zumwalt of "Flock of Dudes" and Jerry Stahl of "Permanent Midnight".

"Urge" will start production in October in New York. Producers are Skip Williamson ("Underworld") and Mark Neveldine ("Crank") through Blackmrkt Incorporated. The movie will be financed by Bridgeworks Media Capital, TCI and Tresoro Ventures.
