Donald Trump is the latest victim of a Twitter prank that has gone haywire.

Twitter user Philip Bradbury tweeted Trump a photo of a man and woman and pretended they were Trump's biggest supporters, according to E! News.

He wrote, "My parents who passed away always said you were big inspiration. Can you pls RT for their memory?

Trump, despite his busy schedule retweeted the image only to realize later on that the two people in the photo were English serial killers Fred and Rosemary West, a couple who tortured and killed 11 women in the 1960s.

Upon knowing this, Trump is enraged and is threatening to sue Bradbury. He wrote, "Some jerk fraudulently tweeted that his parents said I was a big inspiration to them + pls RT - out of kindness I retweeted. Maybe I'll sue."

In a follow up tweet, he wrote, "I thought I was being nice to somebody re their parents. I guess this teaches you not to be nice or trusting. Sad!"

Following his mistake, Trump's twitter account was inundated with mocking messages including a Twitter post from another user who shared a photo of Adolf Hitler and wrote, "my granddad loved you. He's dead now (we think) RT?"

Another Twitter user posted a photo of a bird stirring pasta using its beak, Yahoo reported.

The person wrote, "Hello @realDonaldTrump, my son has a disfiguring condition that leaves him like this. Can you RT to raise awareness?

Meanwhile, Trump's good friend and "Celebrity Apprentice" first season winner, Piers Morgan came to his defense.

He tweeted, "Why should @realDonaldTrump have a clue who Fred & Rose West are? Pretty lame stunt to pull on an American."

However, even Morgan was blasted on Twitter with one user who wrote, "@piersmorgan @realDonaldTrump hope both of you die."

Morgan didn't let the bashing slip when he replied, "We all die one day, you silly little boy."
