She's one of the hottest actresses in Hollywood, who's had a string of films that are a great mix of crowd pleasers and critically acclaimed masterpieces. Think about it. The Anne Hathaway movies have shown her playing a princess in the making (The Princess Diaries), a villain (The Dark Knight Rises), and a character in a classic novel (Les Miserables). Now she is up for the challenge of playing a space exploring astronaut, in what is guaranteed to be one of the biggest movies of the year -- Christopher Nolan's Interstellar.
It's no wonder that Anne Hathaway movies are an instant hit and classic. The 31 year old star recently graced the cover of Elle UK's November issue, looking fierce and elegant at the same time.
In the magazine interview, the Academy award winning actress looks back on her days as a young actress, and how she coped with the success that came so bright and early for her. At first, the actress shared, she really did not know how to handle it all. "This fame thing? F*cked me up for a really long time. I didn't know how to do it," she shared. "I didn't know how to engage with it. It stressed me out. And people would say, 'You just have to be yourself,' and I was like, 'But I don't know who that is yet!'"
It's a good thing then, that even if the Anne Hathaway movies kept happening, the actress was able to find love and settle down. It will be recalled that she tied the knot with jewelry designer Adam Shulman in 2012 in California.
The actress says that marriage has change her for the better, "There was a part of me that I was keeping in reserve, and when I got married, something shifted...That question of, 'How long's this gonna last?' is off the table. And when you're not worried about that, there's space to just be silly."
And now amidst a busy career and spate of Anne Hathaway movies and projects in the works, the actress has learned to take it easy. "The thing I've learned this past year is to chill out. I think when you're young and struggling to find yourself, there's something alluring about the idea of being tortured," the actress shares. "Life for me these days is a lot about letting the unknown be wonderful, and letting myself feel safe."
