In what is sure to be the movie vehicle that will serve as actor Keanu Reeves' official comeback, John Wick reminds us just how badass the actor really is. The John Wick trailer just dropped today and we see the actor in full fighting form, taking merciless revenge on people who killed his dog.

That's right, from the John Wick trailer what we can first make out is that some really tough guys rough him up, kill his dog, which touches a nerve because it was all that he had left of his wife who had died.

But in all seriousness, the plot of the John Wick movie goes like this, John Wick has been living a quiet life when he suddenly being pursued by someone who has been hired to kill him. Now Keanu Reeves' John Wick goes out of retirement goes amok and pretty much trashes anyone involved in the plot to see him dead.

The John Wick trailer does much to impress and jolt the senses, with gunfire, car chases, brutal action sequences.

In a particularly revealing scene in the John Wick trailer, Keanu Reeves' character actually voices what everyone is thinking after watching this. "People keep asking me if I'm back. Yeah, I'm thinking I'm back."

In an interview with IndieWire, Reeves shared what initially appealed to him about playing another action hero like John Wick. "Basil Iwanyk from Thunder Road Pictures sent me a script called "John Wick" and I read it and really enjoyed it," Reeves shares. "Originally it was for an older character, so I met with Derek and spoke with Basil and talked to them about, if I wanted the role what we would have to do. And then I thought we got it to a good place and went out to Chad and Dave to direct it."

John Wick is directed by Chad Stahelski and David Leitch, two professionals from the stunts arena, off a a script by Derek Kolstad. Willem Dafoe co-stars, and the movie will hit cinemas on October 24, 2014.
