'The Normal Heart' star Matt Bomer will join new father Ryan Gosling and 'Noah' actor Rusell Crowe in the upcoming action film, 'The Nice Guys,' according to Deadline.

With 'White Collar' on its last season this fall, Bomer will move on to bigger things and bigger screens. He was last spotted filming for the 'Magic Mike' sequel, 'Magic Mike XXL' in Georgia.

'Iron Man 3' writer Shane Black will be penning and directing the action flick, 'The Nice Guys.' Joel Silver will be the executive producer under Warner Bros.

Bomer has already proved his talent with his six years in 'White Collar' and in HBO's 'The Normal Heart.' He earned an Emmy nomination for Best Supporting Actor for his role as Felix Turner in the HBO show.

Set in the 1970s, Russell Crowe will play Jackson Healy, a recovering alcoholic and a gangster, who works with private investigation Holland March (Gosling), who's currently an alcoholic to investigate the suicide of a porn star.

During the investigation, the pair will uncover a conspiracy that will tie up with Matt Bomer's character. The production has not specified Bomer's exact role in the film.

Margaret Qually from 'The Leftovers' will also star in the film as the daughter of a corrupt chief justice involved in the conspiracy.

Will this film will be Matt Bomer's big break into the big screen as an action star? Potential for a big screen career had already been seen in him before.

The 36-year-old actor was tapped to play as Superman in the Brett Ratner trilogy in the past. Unfortunately, the project fell apart.

With this new chance in Black's action film, he would hopefully show off the potential that Brett Ratner saw in him.

In the meantime, Matt Bomer will once again appear as Neal Caffrey in the final six episodes of 'White Collar' this November 6 at 9PM on USA Network.

'The Nice Guys,' on the other hand, is expected to hit theaters on June 16, 2016.
