Last month, Robert Downey Jr. tried to clear out all "Iron Man 4" rumors by revealing that there aren't any talks yet about the fourth installment. The actor finished filming "Avengers 2" early which started speculations that he will be working on another "Iron Man" movie. However, the rumors aren't true.

The 49-year old actor told Variety, "There isn't one in the pipe," Downey added, "No, there's no plan for a fourth Iron Man." Hearing that got many fans disappointed and some even gave up on the idea of seeing their favorite superhero in a solo movie again.

Marvel fans can still see Tony Stark in "The Avengers: Age of Ultron" in 2015; and there were also reports that he will return for "Avengers 3" in 2018. Maybe they can still squeeze in a solo movie for the iron-clad superhero. During an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Robert Downey Jr. revealed the fate of Tony Stark.

The actor told the website, "I'm sure we'll ride that thing. You've got to surf that all the way in to shore." He explained, "I think I was at the forefront of something that was coming into being, and I think it has carried me as much as I have informed it. That's the healthy way to look at it. It's so easy to become inflated by the successes, but what they really are are long, strong trends. It's just another wave."

That statement ignited the "Iron Man 4" rumors again because Robert Downey Jr. seems to be prepared to continue the trend of having him as Tony Stark. He should definitely strike while the iron is hot. The actor was one of the main reasons why "Iron Man" became a box-office hit because of his excellent portrayal of Tony Stark.

He was even named as Hollywood's highest paid actor of 2014 and most of his earnings came from "Iron Man 3", which was the highest-grossing movie last year with $1.2 billion in box office revenue. Now the question is if Marvel can match the talent fee of Robert Downey Jr.

What do you think of the latest "Iron Man 4" rumors? Do you want to see Robert back in his suit or do you think it's about time that he gives up his amour?
