Mario Lopez one-night stand with a pop star was revealed during his appearance on top-rated talk show, "The Ellen DeGeneres Show." The 40-year-old Lopez has just released his book "Just Between Us" and even had an interview with DeGeneres so he could tease his fans with a few highlights from his book.
The "Saved by the Bell" star told DeGeneres, "When a man turns 40, it's an important time to pause and reflect on how he got there, and to make a mature plan for the future. And, what better way than to write it down?"
He also mentioned in his book that his father, Mario Lopez, Sr., did certain things in order to make ends meet for his family. Lopez said, "I was born in Chula Vista, which is the border town to Tijuana, and I'm a child of immigrants. My dad did what he had to do to take care of us. Oftentimes, when we'd take little trips across the border - and this was obviously pre-9/11 - we'd come back right away. He'd pull over and he'd open the trunk and sometimes people would come out."
Lopez then continued, "I was, like, 'Alright.' I didn't think much of it as a kid. Then, I got older, it kinda dawned on me." DeGeneres then shifted to another topic that Lopez discussed in his book. Apparently, the host of "Extra" had a short romantic encounter with one of today's biggest pop stars.
DeGeneres said, "You also admit that you had a one-night stand with a major pop star." Lopez confessed and confirmed that the rendezvous happened while he was in Las Vegas.
He answered, "Well, yeah. I'm trying not to give too much away without giving too much away. It was maybe six or seven years ago. Eight years ago?" Additionally, he mentioned that he and his old flame are still "friendly." However, he adamantly refused to answer if he had the chance to interview the woman since they had their one-night stand years ago.
To add DeGeneres' signature comedic note, she then went on to try to guess who the mystery pop star was by throwing in the names Christina Aguilera, Britney Spears, and even Celine Dion. Lopez then answered back, jokingly, "Barbra Streisand!"
