Son Hyun Joo is finally launching his counterattack.
Expectations are rising for the upcoming episode of the SBS Monday-Tuesday drama 'The Chaser', which will air on the 18th. The preview for the episode last week revealed that Baek Hong Suk (played by Son Hyun Joo) is on the verge of finally striking back at the powers behind the conspiracy he has been uncovering.
Homicide detective Baek Hong Suk was a humble man with a loving family, who was reduced to a fugitive on the run after he lost his wife and daughter - his entire family - in a calculated move by unknown corrupted powers. Chased by the very police force he poured his life's work into, as well as those working for presidential candidate Kang Dong Yoon (Kim Sang Jung), Baek Hong Suk is indeed a beleaguered man.
It is from these circumstances that Son Hyun Joo's character finally decides to take his vengeance by bringing down Kang Dong Yoon, a major player of the conspiring powers. Filming in Kimpo and Pajoo, the crew of 'The Chaser' captured scenes of Baek Hong Sung kidnapping Kang Dong Yoon's wife Seo Ji Soo (played by Kim Sung Ryung) with the help of Detective Jo (Park Hyo Joo). Seo Ji Soo was the driver who hit Bae Hong Suk's daughter Soo Jung (played by Lee Hye In).
The production crew commented that "Hong Suk's single strike will not bring down his opponent easily, but the tension in the series will escalate as he begins to gradually close in on Dong Yoon."
