Facebook Messenger And Whatspp Integration Approved By EU Commission Antitrust Authority As They Believe That Consumers Would Benefit From It!

The antitrust authority of the European Union had already approved of Facebook's $19 billion takeover proposal of WhatsApp messaging service.

The executive Commission's 28 nation bloc announced Friday the deal may push tru because consumers will surely have a broad option of communication apps they could utilize. Facebook Inc, operated its own mobile messaging service with Facebook messenger, but the EU said the future merge between the two messaging apps, "would continue to face sufficient competition."

Joaquin Almunia, EU antitrust chief says, "while Facebook Messenger and WhatsApp are two of the most popular apps, most people use more than one communications app."

In 2009, WhatsApp Commission, has some 600 million worldwide users, Mark Zuckerberg, Facebook CEO is hoping to gain 1 billion, a few years from now.

According to the Wall Street Journal, The European Commission and EU's central for Antitrust authority, said that the firms' consumers smartphones communication apps, WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger, were not direct competitors, and the users would have more apps choices, and options after the merger. Almunia explained, "We have carefully reviewed this proposed acquisition and come to the conclusion that it would not hamper competition in this dynamic and growing market."

EU's spokesman said consumers intended to use the two messaging apps in various ways, and use them randomly or even simultaneously on the same smartphone. Introducing new apps is hassle free, and does not need valuable investment and time.

On the other hand, the commission decided ultimately that Facebook's control over users' data would not put the competition at risk in the online advertising industry and that privacy related issues will be well-answered. The social networking giant's platform has more than 1.3 billion users globally; 300 million of it are Facebook messenger app users. Whatsapp, which gives a form of low-cost substitute for text messaging, has 600 million users worldwide.
